Lurking beneath… in the depths where you don’t want to go, I’ll be there… patiently waiting. Though you wear your mask well, and I must say it does look rather good on you, I know who you really are. I see your pain, your jealousy, hatred, I can feel it all. What you deny, does not disappear, for I am always here. Like plants, so men also grow, some in the light, some in the shadows.
Eventually, we are all paid a visit from ‘The Shadow self’.
Cosmo Oliver is an English Folk/Alternative Rock singer/songwriter based in Norfolk.
He is a blend of the soft, sombre longing from folk artists of the 60s and 70s, mixed with the bravado and high energy of Alternative Rock groups of the 90s, and the heavy foreboding of the great classical composers. Taking the listener on a dark and lonely journey, he is a voice for the bruised and broken. Cosmo is known for his eccentric and theatrical performances, and creating nuanced and complex characters, mixed with thought-provoking, suggestive lyrics that cause us to look inward and question our lives.
His debut EP ‘The Shadow Self’, was released on the 15th of August 2024.
